Kikichoko is one the most well known ochoko cup.  It is used by the Toji (Saké Brew Master), Saké Judges and Saké Sommeliers to taste and evaluate sakés.  Janome literally means 'Snake Eye'. It is called Janome because of the two blue rings inside the cup that looks like a snake's eye. Besides using the cups to taste and smell the aromas, the white rings helps the viewer check for colour (e.g. brownish due to ageing) and the blue circles for the turbidity/gloss of the saké (e.g. cloudy due to coarse filteration).  The name Kikichoko is made up of two words - Kiki meaning tasting and Choko meaning saké cup.  So a Kikichoko literally means a Saké Tasting Cup.
